Wave Gotik Treffen (WGT) is literally the oldest and biggest gothic festival in the world uniting all the dark scene genres imaginable – gothic metal, EBM, synth pop, viking, folk, industrial and so on. The first attempt (not legal by the way) to make it occurred in 1987 in Potsdam, but the first real official WGT was held in 1992 after Germany’s reunion. Within just a few years the visitors number has increased dramatically: from just 200-300 to 20.000-25.000 people.
